Job Description
Established in 2001, Allstar Rebar undertakes large-scale rebar estimation and high-volume detailing using the most current rebar software and precision rebar fabricating. Their plant capabilities are in excess of 8000 tonnes of processed rebar per year and they have completed projects in various regions of Canada and Bermuda. They have been a proud member of the OSCO Construction Group since 2008.
Allstar Rebar is looking for rebar fabricators to join us at our Bedford location.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery in shop to move, cut and bend reinforcing steel bars
- Shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths
- Bender machines, both manual and computerized
- Overhead crane to move and select material to be fabricated or shipped
- Load and unload materials from trucks
- Tying rebar bundles together with wire for shipping
- Ensuring shop cleanliness and maintaining work areas
- Assist other employees with machinery and tasks as assigned
- General labour duties as required
Requirements
- Must have own transportation, no public transportation available
- Entry level position – full training provided on machinery used in shop
- Ability to read/communicate in English at an intermediate level
- Attention to detail and strong math skills required
- Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Some heavy lifting up to 50lbs may be required
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Majority of work is inside, some outside work
- Working conditions may be noisy/dusty, hot/cold
- Construction, manufacturing plant or rebar tying experience will be considered assets
- Overtime may be required
- Shift work may be required

Hourly wage for this position starts between $21.48- $26.25 based on experience
