Job Description
Det’on Cho Construction Services is recruiting for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our vibrant team. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for repairing heavy equipment in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner to ensure equipment availability is maximized. This position is located in various locations of the Yellowknife area.
Responsibilities
- Perform heavy equipment repairs within planned time frames and without compromising the integrity of the equipment
- Perform repairs in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly manner to maximize equipment availability
- Complete work orders and document work progress
- Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis
- Adhere to all safety and environmental rules
- May be required to develop junior team members and apprentices
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have a:
- A journeyman certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, an asset
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a Clean Drivers Abstract OR Class 3 would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work as a team member
- Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR is an asset.
