Job Description

Perisher is the operator of the largest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere, located in the beautiful Snowy Mountains region of South-Eastern NSW and just a two-hour drive from Canberra and the Far South Coast. Perisher is part of Vail Resorts who own and operate ski resort operations across the USA, Canada and Australia including iconic resorts such as Perisher, Falls Creek, Hotham in Australia and Park City, Beaver Creek, Vail and Whistler Blackcomb in North America.

Perisher has an opportunity for a qualified Mechanic to join our team on an initial winter season contract. Mechanics are based at either of our two mechanical Workshops which are located at Smiggin Holes and Guthega and work a variety of shifts during the winter months in order to ensure general and preventative maintenance of all machinery is to a high standard and is safe for operation. Shift penalties will apply as per the Perisher Trades Enterprise Agreement 2018.

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

• A current Driver’s License
• Certificate III in Plant, Light or Heavy Vehicle (Trade Certificate)
• A flexible attitude towards hours of work e.g. night shift roster
• Experience working with Plant or Heavy Vehicles
• Understanding of WH&S regulations
• A NSW Tradesperson Certification or equivalent
• Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic principles.
• This role provides a variety of work experiences by servicing, maintaining and repairing trucks, buses, 4WDs and oversnow vehicles. The successful applicant will need to be a fully qualified Mechanic as well as a flexible team player. Given the range of vehicles in our fleet, from small engine snowmobiles to large diesel engine plant, we are open to a range of mechanical qualifications for these roles.

Experience in hydraulic and electrical systems would be an advantage.
