Work Environment

This is a full-time, permanent position with a Monday to Friday schedule, offering potential for overtime and on-call responsibilities. The role involves travel throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, with occasional trips to British Columbia based on business needs.

A Day in The Life

  • Comply with all jurisdiction traffic safety legislation
  • Safely operate various vehicles, including but not limited to straight trucks and tractor trailers
  • Abide by all Waste Management and customer plant-specific safety procedures
  • Ensure all waste containers are labeled in accordance with TDG Regulations. (Drums – stick on labels, Bags – in pocket, Bins – wire tie label). You will ensure all labels are completed in full including shipping name, generator name, approval number, TDG Class, UN number, Packing Group number, load number, drum number, etc.
  • Inspect all waste materials to ensure compliance with manifest, recycle docket and bill of lading descriptions
  • Be part of an on-call rotation for off hours and weekends
  • Communicate effectively daily with the Dispatch to maximize customer needs and Secure’s efficiency
  • Assist with operations at the facility
  • Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Class 1 Drivers License
  • Minimum of 3 years driving experience in the transportation industry or demonstrated competency
  • Prior experience operating tri-drive trucks and end-dump trailers is considered an asset
  • Solid knowledge base with respect to Hours of Service, load securement and driving regulations
  • Solid understanding of Canadian geography, highway systems and remote oilfield locations
