Job Description
Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated laborer to work within the Parks and Open Spaces Team in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a variety of tasks including road maintenance, landscaping, and general labor duties as required. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, strong work ethic, and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities of Laborer:
The Laborer within the Parks and Open Spaces Team will be required to
- Provide safe and reliable access to Moree Plains Shire Open Spaces network, (inclusive of but not limited to parks, gardens, Main Street, sports fields, villages and town entrances) and surrounds to satisfy the economic and social needs of the community.
- Maintain the Moree Plains Shire Open Spaces networks surrounds in a safe and aesthetically pleasing condition.
- Provide a neat and tidy image and promote Moree Plains Shire Council in a positive manner.
Requirements for Job:
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:
- Horticultural knowledge or experience, together with experience in the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Relevant work experience in a laboring environment or certificate of completion for a structured training program in work related area.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, priorities and meet production deadlines within an environment with minimal supervision and work within a team.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with the ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to work a rotating roster which involves weekend, early morning and late evening shifts and public holidays.
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to keep accurate records including, timesheets, daily running sheets & fuel usage records.
- General Construction Induction card.
- Current NSW Provisional or Class C Driver’s License (Manual)

- Attractive Salary ranging from $970.20 up to $1079.85 per week (PLUS Superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience.
