Responsibilities
As a Welder, your key responsibilities will include:
Performing welding operations in at least one assigned area such as tank weld, clamp weld, top cover weld, or small parts
Welding carbon steel and stainless-steel structures and weldments used in transformer construction
Setting up welding equipment and selecting appropriate rods, wire, and machine settings
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
Performing MIG, TIG, submerged-arc welding, brazing, and oxy-acetylene cutting
Cleaning and inspecting welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
Using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and templates
Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
Conducting minor machine maintenance and equipment repairs when required
Following all safety policies and participating in the company’s zero-harm safety culture
Assisting with training and orientation of other employees when requested
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Proven experience in welding steel and stainless-steel materials
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and welding specifications
Experience working with MIG, TIG, SMAW, and submerged-arc welding processes
Willingness to work in environments with heat, fumes, and elevated work areas
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
Skills
