Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Auto Electrician to report to the Supervisor – George Fisher Mine Communications. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa.
The Role
We are looking for a qualified Auto Electrician with a strong involvement in all aspects of maintenance, including planned and reactive maintenance, repairs and servicing to join us in the Electrical Communications section at George Fisher Mine.
In this position, you will work in a multidisciplinary team comprised of Auto Electricians and Radio Technicians to ensure that the highest quality of work is conducted and maintained. The roster for this role is 7 days on, 7 days off (day shift only, 12 hour shifts).
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Demonstrating and promoting a high level of safety commitment
- Working thoroughly and consistently when maintaining site vehicles and equipment
- Working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary trade team
- Partaking in servicing, repairs and preventive maintenance change outs, along with field work
- Performing works on a range of mobile mining equipment including Caterpillar, Sandvik, Epiroc, Normet and Komatsu
- Participating in continuous improvement projects
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- Trade qualification – Auto Electrical
- Capability in reading and interpreting auto electrical schematics
- A minimum of 2 years industry experience working as a qualified tradesperson is preferred
- Ability to conduct fault finding on electrical systems and machines
- Efficiency with OEM diagnostics tooling
- Current Australian manual driver’s license
- Automation experience would be beneficial
