Job Description

Genus Fleet Management forms part of the Genus Plus Group, a rapidly growing ASX listed company. GenusPlus Group (ASX:GNP) offers integrated multidisciplinary capabilities specializing in both electrical and instrumentation (E&I), mechanical fabrication, assembly, and installation. The Genus Fleet workshop is based in Kenwick WA, with a combination of mechanics, auto-electricians, welders and fleet coordinators. It is also supported by various depots around WA and nationwide, with fleet coordinators and mechanics servicing those depots.

The Role

  • Genus is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our Fleet Management Service team in Kenwick, WA. Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager the Boilermaker will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance to a range of LV, HD vehicles, plant and equipment.

Reporting the Fleet

  • Carry out quality routine and emergency breakdown repairs for various machinery such as earth moving equipment, transport equipment, light, medium and heavy trucks
  • Perform general fabrication duties including trouble shooting, adhering to drawing specifications, use of welding (MIG, TIG, Stick), cutting, grinding and stress relieving of steels
  • Conduct maintenance repairs on fleet vehicles and reduce equipment downtime with innovative problem solving

Essential Skills

  • Trade Qualification in Engineering – Heavy Fabrication
  • Previous boilermaker/welding/fabricating experience essential
  • Valid Australian Driver’s License – “C” Class
  • Exceptional skills in conducting breakdowns / fault finding
  • Strong ability to adapt to different, environments, and workloads
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of safety and work ethic
  • Have sufficient and appropriate tools to perform the role

Desirable Skills

  • Hydraulics experience highly desirable
  • Experience with directional drilling and excavating equipment highly desirable
  • High Risk Work Licenses (Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights and Crane Tickets)
