Job Description
We are currently seeking 2 team players to join our Gold Coast Homelessness Service providing case management to families experiencing homelessness. Uniting Care are seeking a persons to complement our existing team and support us with our work to support families with children experiencing homelessness in short term, emergency accommodation. The position offered is fulltime and Max term until 30th June 2025 and is based in Labrador, Gold Coast, flexibility of hours between 7am and 7pm. There is a possibility that these contracts will be extended beyond June 2025.
The successful applicant will have experience as a case worker with people experiencing homelessness, including rough sleepers. They will be competent in identifying and understanding risks posed to children, how to respond to effectively safeguard children, an understanding of DFV, mental health and AOD’s, the complexities within these presentations and how to create case plans that support families towards autonomy and stable housing.
What makes a difference for us
Ideally you have 2 years’ experience of paid or volunteer work with people experiencing homelessness and a subsequent sound understanding of the contributing factors of homelessness. You must have excellent verbal communication skills that enable you to assess needs accurately and extensively as well as transferable written communication skills to accurately document engagement and provide advocacy to external stakeholders. You must have a tertiary qualification in human services, community services, Youth Services or related field. A high level of competence with technology is also required.
