Qube Forestry NZ, formerly PHL, is a Gisborne-based logging transport provider with over 90 trucks on the road. Serving the region since 1985, Qube Forestry is part of the Qube network, a leader in integrated logistics solutions.

About the Role

Position: Class 5 Truck Driver

Join our Gisborne team as a Class 5 Truck Driver, operating a modern fleet of Kenworth and Scania trucks. Based out of a well-equipped facility that includes an in-house workshop, tyre bay, and drive-through truck wash, your role will involve transporting logs from East Coast forests to local ports and sawmills.

  • This is a permanent, full-time position
  • Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required
  • $29.66–$35.00 per hour (approximately $85,000 per year) depending on experience
  • Guaranteed minimum 40 hours per week

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conducting pre-trip inspections on heavy vehicles.
  • Safe loading of logs and operating of trucks on sealed and unsealed roads.
  • Reporting of hazards, incidents, and maintenance requirements in a timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicle upkeep.
  • Communicate effectively over radio.

Key attributes required:

  • 2 years relevant, verifiable experience.
  • Clean Class 5 License.
  • Physically fit and safety-conscious.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual.
