Job Description
The Sanitation Associate will clean facility and equipment to meet internal Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and ensure FDA & USDA standards. The primary focus is doing a deep clean on machines to ensure they pass pre-op inspection each morning.

Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for deep clean of wide variety of machinery so they will pass morning inspection. Must properly break down and clean all production machinery and equipment
- Review and follow internal Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), as well as, FDA & USDA standards
- Clean and sanitize all belts, surfaces, machines, & lines
- Mop and squeegee floors, wipe down walls, etc. in production areas
- Occasionally may use a ladder or scissor lift to reach and clean higher levels
- Remove trash and cardboard and transport waste outside to trash compactor and receptacles
- Properly use and maintain cleaning chemicals
- Help with general housekeeping and organization
- Follow & encourage others to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- May help clean and maintain bathrooms, hand wash stations, or other general areas (e.g., break room, etc.)
- May help clean around exterior of the building as needed
- May help in dish room or other areas as needed
Required Skills
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Observation and initiative skills
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail as sanitation programs are key to preventing potential bacteria problems
- Willingness to cross-train and help in other areas as needed

- Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous food sanitation experience
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
- Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
- Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Able to perform repetitive movements
- Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
