West-Can Seal Coating Inc. (West-Can) is a privately owned road infrastructure company specializing in pavement preservation and roadway construction across Western Canada. West-Can Seal Coating Inc. has been in business for over 35 years. As one of the largest pavement preservation companies in Western Canada, West-Can operates offices located in Didsbury and Bruderheim (Alberta) and Brandon (Manitoba). Core Responsibilities
- Assist with daily set up of traffic control signs and devices
- Vehicle operation and driving
- Use of hand and power tools, shovels, rakes, jack hammers, plate tampers and squeegees
- Prepare equipment and tools for daily operations
- Preparation of roadway for paving or maintenance
- Finishing of pavement and applied materials
- Ability to multitask
- General task as assigned by site supervisor
- Active participation in health and safety program, compliance with all workplace safety policies,
- procedures, acts, and regulations
Requirements
- Previous road construction experience required
- Ability to work extended hours, including overtime and seven days a week
- Willingness to travel and spend extended time away from home, including out of province work
- Ability to lift 70 pounds
- Class 5 or greater driver’s license (Candidates with class 3 license or better are preferred)
- Standard First-Aid level C with CPR/AED is an asset
