Fuel your passion for farming where organics and teamwork thrive.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join the high-performing team Tasman Dairy Organics. In this role, you’ll assist with a range of farm tasks — from milking, calving, and feeding stock, to effluent management, spraying, and fencing.

You’ll play an important part in the day-to-day operations and work closely with your team to help meet production and animal welfare goals.

You’ll receive full training and support, and we’ll encourage you to take the initiative, develop your skills, and support newer team members along the way. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a great work ethic and a passion for farming.

Enjoy being part of a culture that values safety, wellbeing, and continuous improvement.

This is s a fixed-term role until the end of January 2026, drive-in – drive out.

The Farm

Just 15 minutes from Levin, Tasman Organics is a certified organic dairy farm covering 155 effective hectares. We milk around 330 cows at peak through a 30-aside herringbone shed.

We run a 5:2 roster for most of the year, switching to a 6:2 pattern over spring to meet seasonal needs and keep things running smoothly.

This is a team that values sustainable practices, high animal welfare standards, and a strong team culture, and we’re proud of the work we do every day.

About You

You’ll bring a willingness to learn, get stuck in, and contribute to the team’s success. Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience in a similar dairy farming role (or a strong interest in developing one)
  • Experience in organic farming would be an advantage
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude with initiative and commitment to animal welfare and health & safety
  • The ability to coach and support junior or new staff where required
  • A current NZ restricted or full driver’s licence

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, up to 4% KiwiSaver matching. Plus ongoing training and development.
