TNT Express Australia is presently hiring suitable candidate for the job role of Driver. The role holder is responsible to safely transport passengers or goods from one location to another, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to all traffic regulations. They also maintain the vehicle in good working condition and provide excellent customer service during transit.

Key Responsibilities of Driver:

  • Safely operate the vehicle by adhering to all traffic rules and regulations, ensuring the safety of passengers, cargo, and other road users. Stay vigilant and avoid distractions while driving.
  • Follow traffic laws, including speed limits and signals, to maintain order on the roads. Obey local driving regulations and guidelines to prevent accidents and traffic violations.
  • Plan efficient routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption. Use GPS and traffic updates to avoid congested areas and ensure timely arrivals at destinations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle’s interior and exterior. Regularly clean and sanitize the vehicle to provide a comfortable and hygienic environment for passengers and cargo.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition. Check brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Report mechanical issues or any other vehicle malfunctions immediately to the maintenance team. Ensure that necessary repairs are conducted promptly to avoid operational disruptions.
  • Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring that it is securely placed to prevent damage during transit. Follow proper lifting techniques to avoid injuries.
  • Keep accurate travel logs, documenting details such as mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times. Maintain records for compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, offering help with luggage and addressing any special need. Provide a courteous and professional service to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage delivery schedules effectively, coordinating with dispatchers and clients to meet deadlines. Adapt to changes in schedules or routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.

Ideal Requirements of Driver:

  • A valid driver’s license is essential, appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven.
  • Many companies prefer or mandate a certain amount of driving experience, often at least 1-2 years.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses.
  • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
  • Capacity to provide and follow direction.
