Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world class zinc lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Accountabilities

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mobile plant equipment, specifically Excavators.
• Responsible for the performance of pre-start checks and hazard identification.
• Responsible for the communication of accurate and timely information to Mine Dispatch Coordinator, Supervisor, and Assistant Supervisor, as appropriate.
• Responsible for following safety practices and procedures when undertaking work.
• Responsible for behaving in line with Glencore values including actively participating in training and development activities.

Successful applicant will have

• Previous experience operating Excavators (CAT 6060/6040, Hitachi 1200) is required.
• Experience with Loaders CAT 980, 992, 993, 995 is desirable.
• Experience with Grader 18M is desirable.
• Experience with Dozers D10, D11 is desirable.
• RII tickets or VOC for some or all of the listed machinery are required.
• A minimum of 12 months’ experience in open-cut mining is required.
• A strong commitment to safety is essential.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
