Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating in New Zealand scaling from Kaitaia to Invercargill. We are on the hunt for someone to join our PM shift and be part of the team responsible for unloading our road and rail freight. To be successful in this role you will be safety obsessed, a team player and customer focused.

The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Freight Operator to join our operations team in Christchurch, you will be an important part of our team ensuring the timely, efficient and safe handling of freight in order for the company to achieve their target delivery goals, on time and damage free. The right candidate will be a friendly, energetic, and positive team player with a customer focused attitude and a reliable work ethic.
Key responsibilities include:
- Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units
- Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently
- Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner
- Maintain good working relationships
- Communicate effectively within a team environment
Your Skills
We are looking for a team player with prior forklift experience to join our team in Christchurch. You will be an effective communicator who will not hesitate to assist other members of your team with their daily tasks while maintaining an awareness of safety for yourself and others.
Additionally, you will have:
- OSH approved forklift certificate
- Prior long fork experience
- A strong health and safety focus
- An understanding of dangerous goods laws (preferred but not essential)
- Prior work experience in the freight / logistics industry (preferred but not essential)
