Responsibilities
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety policies and regulations
- Follow all quality procedures
- Communicate professionally and effectively with apprentices, peers, leadership, customers and contractors
- Must be willing to travel
- Able to achieve high quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- Mentor peers with less experience and apprentices
- Responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment
- Reading blueprints and sketches proficiently to fabricate, modify, assemble or install equipment for various industrial industries
- Propper use, inspection and storage of rigging equipment
- Safely operate material handling and aerial lift equipment
- Equipment troubleshooting, repair, assembly and preventative maintenance
- Required to work additional hours to meet customers schedule requirements
Qualifications
- Education Required: Mechanical Technician or Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
- Certified Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright
- Ability to work in a team environment that is committed to working safe, while focused on quality products and services
- Strong interpersonal skills are required
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem solving is required
- Experience in maintenance shutdowns/turnarounds and equipment installation considered an asset
- Welding experience is considered an asset
- Pulp and Paper, Sawmill and Ship Repair experience is desirable
- Must be willing to undertake diverse tasks and remain flexible in responsibilities
