Key Responsibilities of Kitchen Manager:
- Manages labour & food costs and put in place initiatives and activities ensuring achievement of targets.
- Engage with residents to create a partnership approach to food & service offerings that are attractive to residents and their guests.
- Ensure the physical café, dining environment and front of house operation is delivered to a high standard.
- Create a culture of self-leadership, creativity, training, and continuous improvement.
- All statutory and audit inspections are passed and that all relevant facility and staff qualification certificates are complete.
- Manage appropriate supplier relationships and purchasing to ensure best practice,
- Establish and maintain systems to review and ensure compliance with prescribed Kitchen standards, including stock systems.
- Prepare attractive and profitable menus for special events
- Responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of self and others within the workplace
Ideal Requirements of Kitchen Manager:
- High School diploma.
- Basic safety training certifications.
- Pesticide application certification.
- Tractor and machinery operation certification may be benefical.
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
- Attention to detail to ensure the quality of crops and livestock care.
- Problem-solving skills for dealing with unexpected issues on the farm.
- Basic understanding of plant and animal biology.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and farm protocols.
- Dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to handle and use chemicals safely, including pesticides and fertilizers.
- Good hand-eye coordination for tasks such as planting, harvesting, and operating equipment.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, often up to 50 pounds.
