Key Responsibilities of Kitchen Manager:

Manages labour & food costs and put in place initiatives and activities ensuring achievement of targets.
Engage with residents to create a partnership approach to food & service offerings that are attractive to residents and their guests.
Ensure the physical café, dining environment and front of house operation is delivered to a high standard.
Create a culture of self-leadership, creativity, training, and continuous improvement.
All statutory and audit inspections are passed and that all relevant facility and staff qualification certificates are complete.
Manage appropriate supplier relationships and purchasing to ensure best practice,
Establish and maintain systems to review and ensure compliance with prescribed Kitchen standards, including stock systems.
Prepare attractive and profitable menus for special events
Responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of self and others within the workplace

Ideal Requirements of Kitchen Manager:

High School diploma.
Basic safety training certifications.
Pesticide application certification.
Tractor and machinery operation certification may be benefical.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

Attention to detail to ensure the quality of crops and livestock care.
Problem-solving skills for dealing with unexpected issues on the farm.
Basic understanding of plant and animal biology.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and farm protocols.
Dependability and punctuality.
Ability to handle and use chemicals safely, including pesticides and fertilizers.
Good hand-eye coordination for tasks such as planting, harvesting, and operating equipment.
Ability to lift heavy objects, often up to 50 pounds.
