The Government of Canada is seeking experienced maintenance worker II to join various departments and agencies across Canada. As a maintenance worker II, selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and facilities. Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Worker:
- Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on buildings, equipment, and facilities.
- Conduct inspections to identify maintenance needs and report findings.
- Install, maintain, and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment.
- Assist with snow removal and other seasonal maintenance tasks.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and government policies.
- This position is primarily responsible to provide support to the solid waste program including the operation of a garbage truck.
- Other duties can include grounds maintenance, repair, and labor services to support road maintenance operations.
Requirements for Maintenance Worker:
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Worker II or in a similar role.
- Experience in the operation of power tools such as lawn mowers and weed eaters.
- Experience in grounds maintenance.
- Experience In road maintenance.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions:

- Must be able to work in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
- Must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear.
