Job Description

The Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC) is a local supplier of steel reinforcing that Australians have trusted for more than 100 years. With a proud history of innovation, supported by the largest branch distribution network in Australia, ARC provides a localized service adapted to our communities, towns & cities from Tasmania to Townsville, and everywhere in between. ARC is looking for a new team member to join our Wollongong branch as an Operator where you will be operating machinery to shape & cut reinforcing bar.
You’ll become part of a small yet high-performing team where your responsibilities will include achieving KPIs and fostering a safety-first culture. Being a part of ARC provides a valuable chance to acquire hands-on experience in steel processing, pre-fabrication, and distribution. It also opens doors for career progression and development opportunities.

As a key member of the team you will:

  • Operate machinery to shape and cut reinforcing bar and mesh
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane
  • Accurately pick and pack orders
  • Load and unload trucks for customers or our drivers
  • Promote and contribute to a safe workplace
  • To be successful in this role you will value collaborative working environments and promote a safety-first culture. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume role that requires attention to detail and time management skills to meet KPIs.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A willingness to learn new skills and have a can-do attitude
  • A safety focused mindset
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Prior experience operating machinery
  • Forklift license and experience is preferred but not essential
  • Overhead crane experience is preferred but not essential
  • HR Truck License is preferred but not essential
