The Role
The role of the Registered Nurse is to provide comprehensive nursing care and support to clients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans to ensure optimal health outcomes. This is a part time position working 23.50 hours per fortnight working the following shifts: Tuesday: 3:00pm – 8:00pm & Wednesday: 3:00pm – 10:15pm
Key responsibilities:
Uses multiple approaches to decision making (scope of nursing practice decision making framework)
Manages the care of older persons in a person center approach
Advocates and protects the rights of older persons
Engages in collaborative practice to achieve positive outcomes for older persons
Attracting developing and retaining talented individuals: creating a learning environment that ensures employee realize their highest potential, allowing the organization as a whole to meet the future challenges.
Engages in activities to improve gerontological nursing practice
Demonstrates regulatory compliance in accreditation and continuous improvement
Attends and actively participates in compulsory training sessions and meetings
About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will foster meaningful, positive relationships with our residents while using your expertise to guide the team towards excellent care outcomes, aligned with Quality-of-Care Principles. Your strong communication skills and passion for supporting, educating, and mentoring staff will be essential in this role
Essential Criteria:
- Evidence of COVID-19 and Current 2024 Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance (within 6-months validity)
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks
- Bachelor in Registered Nursing
- Registration with APHRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
- NDIS Screen Check (or willingness to obtain at interview stage)
- Willing to attend a compulsory 2-day (Monday & Tuesday) induction at our Rivervale Training Institute
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team
- Knowledge of the resident classification scale, accreditation and continuous improvement
- Experience working within Aged Care (Desirable)
