We’re on the lookout for a Road Train Driver to join our team out at Brunette Downs Station, where you’ll be responsible for the safe transportation of livestock. Brunette Downs isn’t just another property; it’s at the heart of AACo and a huge part of our history! Situated 350km northeast of the nearest town, Tennant Creek.. Key Responsibilities:
- Operating a Kenworth T659 2012 Model.
- Transportation of cattle as directed both on and off the station
- Handle cattle in line with AACo animal welfare standards.
- Be responsible for loading cattle at appropriate numbers.
- Adhere to current fatigue management guidelines.
- Complete all paperwork as required e.g. Livestock cartage book etc.
- Conduct general property observations while driving
- Carry out road train maintenance – Carry out a pre start check daily or before each trip taken.
- Maintain road train serviceability and ensure the vehicle is of roadworthy condition.
- Monitor fuel and oil usage and record fuel in fuel log sheets
- Monitor spare part usage
- Follow the general guidelines listed below when operating a road train
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull from 10–20 kilo’s and occasionally more.
- Current MC driver’s license
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous
- Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
