They set tables, communicate with the kitchen, interact with guests, serve food, and clean work areas and supplies. They help make every transaction part of the guest experience.
No matter what position you have, a few things are critical to success. These include creating a safe workplace, following company policies and procedures, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring your uniform, personal appearance, and communication are professional.
Guest Service Experts spend a lot of time on their feet and moving around. They may stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. And they may also move across sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
They must manage the menu, read and visually check information, and take a hands-on approach to work. This includes moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance and up to 50 pounds with assistance. The role may also require reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Doing these tasks well, along with other reasonable job duties as requested, is important for Guest Service Experts. The goal is to provide excellent service to guests and support the business every day.
