Job Description

The Production Operator III – Floater is a key position within the production team, responsible
for operating and maintaining various production equipment and processes across mixing,
casting & sanding departments. This role requires a versatile individual who can adapt quickly to
different tasks, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure the smooth and efficient flow of
production. The Floater will be assigned to different production lines or departments as needed
to fill in for absent team members or to support high-demand periods, ensuring production
targets and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation & Setup: Operate and monitor a variety of production machinery
  • and equipment in multiple production areas (e.g., assembly lines, packaging, quality
  • control)
  • Versatility: Float between different workstations, departments, and production lines as
  • needed to provide coverage and maintain production flow
  • Production Monitoring: Ensure that production goals and quality standards are met in
  • various areas, adjusting equipment settings and processes as needed.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Identify and resolve minor machine issues and report
  • major malfunctions to maintenance personnel. Perform routine equipment checks and
  • preventive maintenance.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, including
  • PPE usage and proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Quality Control: Inspect products during production runs, perform in-line quality
  • checks, and ensure product specifications and standards are met
  • Documentation: Complete production logs, checklists, and reports as required, including
  • recording downtime, production output, and any issues encountered.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to
  • ensure efficient production workflows and resolve any operational issues
  • Training & Development: Assist in training new employees and less experienced
  • operators on machine operation, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Flexibility: Be prepared to work in different departments and production lines on short
  • notice, and take on additional responsibilities as required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a production environment, with at least 1 year
  • in a similar or higher-level role
  • Proven experience operating a variety of production equipment and machinery
  • Previous experience working in multiple departments or cross-functional roles
  • preferred.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in
  • manufacturing, production, or related fields preferred.

Certifications

Forklift certification or other relevant certifications a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various
  • environments (e.g., temperature-controlled, noisy areas).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing or industrial setting with exposure to loud machinery, moving parts, and
  • potentially hazardous materials.
  • May be required to work in shifts, including weekends or overtime, depending on
  • production needs
