Due to an internal promotion, we have an awesome opportunity for a Yard Assistant to join our Gisborne team. This is a varied role where you’ll be hands-on and assisting in the day-to-day operations of the yard including yard maintenance and operating the loaders and forklifts.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Operate Loaders and Forklifts including unloading all deliveries to the yard
  • Maintain cleanliness of the yard throughout the day sweeping and tidying up any mess, spills, hazards etc
  • Maintain yard maintenance program including any ad hoc repairs to ensure the yard in safe and secure, this includes fence repairs, painting, cleaning, gardening etc
  • Manage all waste and paper waste removal and disposal, ensuring compliance with company sustainability policies and practices

  • We’re looking for someone with:
  • Current Class 1 full license
  • Forklift license and W endorsement is essential
  • Experience with general yard maintenance and knowledge of how to clean machinery is advantageous
  • Experienced in general handy person repairs
  • Self-motivated, can-do attitude and a team player
  • Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Good understanding of site safety and hazard management
  • Flexibility to perform various daily tasks and grow with the team
  • Excellent communication with co-workers and management
  • Creating, Connecting and caring for the community
