Duties& responsibilities :
Supervises and controls detainees in residential
blocks, workshops, associations’ yards, sites of
work, sentry points, public places during escorts,
and other areas where detainees are present
Performs lock up and unlock of detainees in cells
Performs patrol during morning and night shifts
Controls detainee movements during meals, visits,
medical care
Searches fellow staff, detainees and others
entering the prison
Performs vehicle searches, body searches and
control checks at the prison entrance and upon
departure. For example: visitors, NGOs, transfer of
detainees to other institutions, detainees
attending court or hospital
Manages entry and discharge of detainees from
prison
Escorts detainees when attending hospital, the
death of relative or institution transfers
Ensures high level of security and customer
service as the first point of contact for staff and
visitors entering the prison establishment
