Selected candidate will plant sugarcane, frequently cutting cane using a cane knife, trimming, bundling, carrying and loading sugarcane stalks in the field. Responsibilities of Casual Field Farm Worker:
- Planting sugarcane, frequently cutting cane using a cane knife, trimming, bundling, carrying and loading sugarcane stalks in the field.
- Collecting samples including soil, stalk, and leaf.
- Working, standing, and walking long distances in the field for long periods on uneven ground in cane fields.
- Frequently bending, twisting, squatting, often underweight.
- Any other specific duties and instructions that will be provided by your supervisor.
Requirements for Job:
- Are able to perform physical, manual labor in very hot and humid conditions.
- Are physically fit and can lift bundles of cane repeatedly over several hours (up to 20kg).
- Are happy to pay attention to detail and can follow instructions and carry out work safely and accurately.
- Are punctual and reliable.
- High school education is require.
- Have reliable transport to and from site and a current driver’s license.
