Job Summary
At Compass Group Canada, we provide dynamic physical environments to catalyze growth and productivity. The Facilities team advances this goal by maintaining Shopify’s physical spaces and as an outsourced service provider ensuring safe and seamless building operations.
Day-to-day, Facilities Technicians are the front-line in our spaces- inspecting, maintaining and repairing Shopify’s physical assets. Individuals who demonstrate an exceptional attention to detail, familiarity with building systems, and experience working in a hands-on environment will thrive in this role.
Operationally, Facilities Technicians are responsible for:
- Organize and manage all aspects of internal office moves, receive and process client move requests, coordinate with and scheduled vendors, and create and distribute move communications and labels to clients, ensuring the move processes are in accordance with client’s policies and procedures.
- Accountable for the efficient, smooth operation of a job site.
- Provide administrative support, participate in Workplace Services meetings as well as respond and manage Workplace Services (WPS) emails in a timely manner.
- Follow up and complete all Facility Service requests.
- Update FM System as new Associates are on board and floor plans when needed as reconfigurations take place.
- Perform pre- and post-move inventory, furniture inventory, hang move signage, and supervise movers, furniture reconfiguration and space enhancements.
- Perform light manual work when needed or connect with appropriate supplier
- Set conference rooms set up and catering

- Minimum 3 years’ work experience in Facilities/Office Services is preferred.
- Strong computer & Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic and initiative for quality and superior customer service.
- Able to work successfully in a fast paced environment under tight deadlines.
- Readily adaptable to changing work priorities.
- Hands on individual with maintenance and repair knowledge
- Available to be on call in case of emergency
