Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mine Automation Technician to join our dynamic team at the Newmont Tanami Operations. You will play a crucial role in supporting our mining operations by maintaining and optimizing our technological systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, commission, and maintain communications technology required by Caterpillar MineStar systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain MineStar Caterpillar COMMAND remote operator stations.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with the Technology Department and other teams to implement new technologies and improvements.
• Provide technical support and training to mine personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.

About You:

• Trade certificate or similar qualification in Automotive Electrical Technology, Communications, Electronics, Industrial Electrical, or Control Systems.
• Post-trade experience with mine site experience and a sound understanding of operational environments.
• Experience with Caterpillar Mine Star autonomous load and haul system.
• Familiarity with Motorola Digital Radio systems.
• Ability to work off schematic drawings and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of mining equipment and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Unrestricted C class Drivers License.
