The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Farm Hand to assist with our dryland and irrigation cropping operations. Waratah Station is located 10 km south of Surat, QLD. In this role, you will report directly to the Farm Operations Manager.
Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Operating a modern fleet of John Deere tractors (Row Crop and Broadacre).
- Managing furrow irrigation for both summer and winter crops.
- Operating irrigation pumps and flood harvest pumps.
- Using earthmoving machinery, including backhoes, excavators, and graders.
- Performing general station duties such as spraying, mowing, slashing, and tidying
About you
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- A valid Class C manual driver’s license is required.
- HR truck license (or a willingness to obtain one).
- Basic knowledge of GPS farming systems, such as Green Star.
- Experience with furrow irrigation.
- Current chemical handling certification.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Reliable, honest, hardworking, and passionate about working on the land.
- Positive Mindset and a team player attitude
